Stamford Retread industries Malaysia recently visited the Da Nang Rubber Jsc (DRC) in Da Nang, Vietnam for a dealers incentive trip in April. The four-day trip was educational for dealers and SRI management as they witnessed for themselves Vietnam's biggest radial tyre factory operations.
Established in 1975, DRC is one of Vietnam's fastest growing and a leading manufacturer of tyres and tubes in Vietnam. Formerly an American military retreading factory, DRC employs about 1,600 skilled employees, manufacturing heavy-duty, wear-resistance high performance tyres, particularly for heavy load truck tyres with long endurance and high abrasion resistance characteristics.
Among the large DRC inventory, SRI is authorised to sell DRC's D601,D611,D621,D711,D721,741 range of heavy-duty tyres.
The Vietnam trip was also an opportunity for the dealers to do some much needed R&R around Da Nang and Hoi An. Apart from trying out some delicious Vietnam dishes at lovely restaurants, the dealers also visited several mountain resorts such as the Ba Na Hills and Son Tra Mountain, visited sacred buddhist temples and museums like the Linh Ung Pagoda and Cham Museum as well as the popular Han Market.
They also got to relax by the beach at Vietnam's China Beach and My Khe Beach. The most me-morable highlight was dinner on a Dragon boat cruise on the Han River.
Among the VIP guests from Stamford Tyres Malaysia who came along for the factory visit were Wee Koh Wah (President) Dawn Wee Wai Ying (Executive Director) and Cham Soon Kian (Execu-tive VP & CEO).
