Falken factory visit – Pattaya

Stamford Tyres Malaysia – one of the biggest names in the local and regional tyre market held its annual dealers only factory visit recently, taking a total of 15 of its Falken dealers to Pattaya at which Sumitomo Rubber Thailand is located With the established corporate objective to enable its dealer to understand the many aspects of quality products and global standard of manufacturing; as well as to further strengthen STM's dealers confidence in Falken tyres.

This latest Factory visit which commenced from July 10 and ended on July 13 took the 15 dealers for a 4 days & 3 nights trip to Pattaya from July 10 – 13. World famous for its breathtaking settings and tourist spots Pattaya is also the location of Sumitomo Rubber Thailand, a huge 60 million square meters of space comprising two factories located in the Amata City Industrial Estate in Rayong Province; which is some 30km to Laem Chabang Port; Thailand largest seaport, and 120km away from Bangkok.

The 15 dealers came from all over Malaysia and were accompanied by representatives from STM and SRT. Both Stamford Tyres Malaysia and from Sumitomo Rubbers Thailand reps consisted among them the highly distinguished CEO of STM (Mr Cham Soon Kian), who was in turn accompanied by Mr Frankie Kong and Mr Ku Seng Yeow (STM Sales). The 3 SRT representatives were headed by its President Toru Nagahata-san, along with Takuya Machida-san – SRT GM Technical Service Department, and Senior Engineer Mr. Anawat Vanichayachart. Also present was SRAT representatives: Mr KC Lee.

Arriving in Pattaya at 325 local time; the main program of the entire trip namely the visit to SRT factory was scheduled for Day 2, after which places of attraction Pattaya is renowned for among others Wihan San – a sacred and religious spot for the Chinese, Pattaya floating market, Pattaya Elephant Village to name a few.  

Sumitomo Rubber Thailand obtained ISO14001 certification since 2012. Another important development took place 2 years later; the setting up of SRT's third plant May 2014, in response to growing demand for agricultural tyres. The 13 million square meters plant manufacture tyres and rubber crawlers for agricultural vehicles and solid tyres for forklift.
