In the fast moving automotive industry, constant training is a critical factor in ensuring the people involved in it is on top of whatever may come.
In the case of Stamford Tyres – who are the sole distributor of Falken tyres in the country – training seminars are regularly held to ensure their more than twenty nationwide retailers are well versed in every detail of the many tyres available.
Five such events were recently held to cover every region, including East Malaysia. It kicked off in Penang on 3rd April before moving on to Selangor (4th April), Johor (6th April), Kota Kinabalu (26th April) and finally Kuantan (28th April). Each round was attended by between 40 to 50 participants who were trained and briefed on new developments regarding Falken.
Among the topics that were brought up were to understand a customer's psychology before a sales person can approach to recommend a product. This was followed by a tyre sales talk guide and a tyre depth gauge tutorial.
Another significant part of the seminar was to brief retailers on the brand's new or popular tyres; namely the Falken ZE912 and Wildpeak A/T. The former is a tyre designed for a wide range of vehicles such as sedans, wagons or mini vans right up to the sporty driving enthusiasts who also demand quiet and comfortable ride. Its asymmetric and rigid construction helps to improve comfort and high speed steering stability. Grip over wet surface has been improved as well using new polymers integrated into the compound.
The Wildpeak A/T on the other hand is an all-terrain, all-season and all-purpose tyre. With an aggressive stance for maximum traction, the WildPeak A/T stands out from the crowd, featuring a symmetric fiverib pattern and rigid block designs allowing for exceptional on-road response and optimized off-road handling, coupled with two stiff, extra-wide steel belts for stability.
Stamford Tyres even held lucky draws at each venue with SSW alloys of sizes between 15 inch and 18 inch given away to three persons. The seminar held in Selangor at Subang Jaya's Empire Hotel handed out more prizes – two sets of alloys for four lucky individuals.
