Stamford Tyres Malaysia participated in the Malaysia AutoShow 2025, held from 9th to 15th May at Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS), Serdang.
This year’s participation held special significance as Stamford Tyres proudly celebrated 50 years of partnership with Falken, a milestone that is said to underscore decades of trust, collaboration and shared commitment to delivering quality tyres across the region. The commemorative logo – ‘50 Years of Partnership: Stamford Tyres X Falken’ – was featured prominently at the booth, symbolising the enduring alliance between the two respected brands.
“The goal in joining this event was to raise awareness that trusted brands like Falken Tyres, Sumo Firenza tyres, Rays Wheels and SSW Wheels are all represented by none other than Stamford Tyres Malaysia,” said General Manager Ivan Reijan.
According to him, while these brands were already well recognised in the market, the event offered a high-impact platform to elevate Stamford Tyres Malaysia’s brand visibility and reaffirm its position as the official representative of these leading names.
He noted that the Malaysia AutoShow served as an excellent platform to raise the company’s profile. Since its inception in 2015 as the Asean AutoShow, later rebranded as the Malaysia AutoShow in 2016, the annual event saw remarkable growth in exhibitor and visitor numbers as well as overall exhibition space.
The company showcased an extensive range of products at its booth, highlighted by a striking Suzuki Jimny equipped with a full Mudron Body Kit and Turbo Kit to boost performance and visual impact. The custom-built vehicle was fitted with SSW S404LP wheels and the latest Falken Wildpeak A/T4W all-terrain tyres.
Falken Wildpeak A/T4W preview
“Building on the tremendous success of the Wildpeak A/T3W, the all-new Wildpeak A/T4W offers extended mileage, increased tread rigidity and enhanced durability,” he shared. “As a true all-terrain tyre, it’s engineered to perform in a wide range of conditions, on and off the road with deeper tread grooves, improved weather resistance and rugged versatility. The company is targeting a soft launch in the third quarter of this year.”
Also newly introduced is the Wildpeak R/T01, specifically developed for lifted trucks, SUVs and high-powered diesel pickups. Engineered to handle the toughest terrain and applications, from highways to rocky trails, he said this tyre was built for strength and durability.
“Whether you’re in construction, working in plantations or seeking off-road adventure, the Wildpeak R/T01 is the perfect companion,” he added.
In addition to the Falken brand, the company also showcased the Sumo Firenza Nuovo Series. Ivan highlighted that Sumo Firenza tyres was a premium brand from Singapore.
“The company reintroduced the brand to the Malaysian market last year and the response was very encouraging. Today’s drivers expect more from their tyres; they want performance, safety and durability without breaking the bank. The Nuovo Series delivers on all these fronts by offering a superior driving experience at a competitive price,” he said.
The current lineup includes the Nuovo-S, Nuovo ST-07 and Nuovo-Cargo. Developed using advanced rubber compounds and cutting-edge construction technology, the Nuovo Series is seen as an ideal choice for daily drivers and motoring enthusiasts.
Meeting demand of electric mobility
With the growing demand for electric vehicles (EVs), he noted the increasing need for specialised tyre solutions. In response, Sumitomo Rubber Industries introduced the EV-Suitable mark under its Falken tyre brand to reinforce the company’s commitment to sustainability and the evolving needs of the automotive industry.
This new logo, unveiled during the exhibition, is said to help consumers easily identify tyres designed to meet the unique demands of EVs, such as low rolling resistance, high load capacity, enhanced wear resistance, reduced road noise and strong wet-weather performance.
On the wheels front, the SSW S404LP, he pointed out, was a rugged and stylish wheel designed specifically for the Suzuki Jimny. As the in-house brand of Stamford Tyres, Stamford Sport Wheels (SSW) established itself as Malaysia’s leading provider of wheel solutions for the Jimny by offering the widest selection of patterns to suit various taste and performance requirements. Engineered for urban and off-road use, the S404LP combined strength, durability and bold aesthetics to elevate the driving experience.
“Since 2004, SSW was at the forefront of advanced casting technologies such as Tilting Gravity Casting and Low-Pressure Casting to meet rising market demand,” he explained. “With SSW Flotec wheels, Stamford Tyres is targeting the high-inch segment — 18 inches and above — using flow-forming technology that delivers a superior strength-to-weight ratio and greater durability than conventional cast wheels.”
He added that Stamford Tyres Malaysia, the sole distributer of Rays wheels, recently introduced the latest addition to the legendary Volk Racing TE37 line-up; the TE37 Saga S-plus Black Shadow. Since its debut in 1996, the TE37 set the standard in forged wheel performance and continued evolving to meet the demands of motor sports and high-performance tuning enthusiasts.
“The Black Shadow finish gives the TE37 Saga S-plus a sleek, jet-black look with a soft matte sheen,” Ivan said. “It enhances the bold six-spoke design while honouring the legacy of the TE37.”
To add excitement during the show, Stamford Tyres Malaysia hosted activities such as the ‘Fastest Tyre Changing Competition’.
