Stamford Tyres Malaysia Falken Dealer Incentive Trip to Asia Cross Country Rally 2017 – Ayutthaya & Bangkok

Departing on August 13 from KLIA2 for Bangkok, the participants of the annual Stamford Tyres Malaysia Dealers Incentive Trip arrived in Thailand's capital as scheduled after which they took a scenic bus journey northbound for thefirst overnight destination of their 4 days 3 nights trip – the ancient capital of Ayutthaya, the focal point of the 2017 Asia Cross Country Rally.

Later that evening the 33 participants including Stamford Tyres Malaysia six representatives: Team Leader Frankie Kong, Team Assistant Kelvin Wong, Senior Sales Manager Mr. Chia Kiang Mun and Stamford Tyres Malaysia CEO Mr. Cham Soon Kian, including two from STM marketing namely Ms Chye Chew Yong and Ms Norma Ng were honored by Sumitomo Rubber Thailand (SRT) in a welcoming dinner at the Classic Kameo Ayutthaya Hotel. Present on SRT's behalf were its President Mr MASAHARU ONO, Director Mr TAKAHIKO SHIOMI, General Manager Mr TOMOHIRO SENNA, was there to welcome the STM dealers. while Mr KC Lee Sumitomo Rubber Asia (Tyre) Sales & Marketing representative was dispatched by SRT to join the Malaysian dealers for the ACCR event.

They were then ushered to the official ACCR event area where the dealers were especially excited when they saw the Falken sponsored Falken Wildpeak MT01 equipped TRD Team Asia Hilux Revo rumbled up to the starting line. As the bold Hilux REVO sped off, it was accompanied by a collective cheer from the STM Falken dealers as well.

Day 2 they headed for Bangkok to make two all important visits as per the major attractions in Bangkok's automobile accessory market. The first visit was the VVP 4¡Á4 Center – its 4000 square meters total area heralded as the biggest 4¡Á4 centerin Bangkok.The VVP4¡Á4 Center is owned by VEERASAK NITIPISANON who is also the Managing Director of V.V.P. Wholesalers Co Ltd. – Thailand's premier distributor of accessories, aftermarket components, parts and everything in between with a network of more than 200 dealers in and around Bangkok as well as all over Thailand.

Later that evening the STM dealers visited the renowned B-Quik Store – with more than 136 branches countrywide, over 2000 employees throughout Thailand. Under Mr HENK JOHAN KIKS B-Quik CEO, it has grown to become the biggest tyre retail shop network in the region. The longstanding business partnership between B-Quik and Stamford Tyres Distributor have indeed grown thus far; at present B-Quik Company Limited is STD's biggest customer in Thailand, Stamford Tyres' premium wheel brand SSW is the sole wheel supplier in B-Quik retail chain, whilst B-Quik is a major Thai distributor of both SSW wheels and Falken tyres, in which B-Quik also sourced a number of Falken tyre sizes direct from STD.

Day 3 saw them visit Project Mu  S.C.H. Industry Co Ltd where they were warmly welcomed by MR YONGYUT (PRESIDENT) AND MR YASSAWEE (GM) and MR OJ YUTAKA ONUMA (PMU ASIA -MD). They took a short tour of the factory, ran by MR YUTTHASAK the factory manager. Stamford Tyres Malaysia and Project Mu go way back as the former has been the sole distributor for the latter here in Malaysia for the better part of 13 years.
