Stamford Tyres (M) Sdn Bhd was the main sponsor of the annual go-kart event of the Hainan association, where the generous tyre company supported the event with RM10,000 cash plus goodie bags and attire for the participants.

Over 90 members gathered at the Shah Alam go-kart circuit on 12 July in high spirits. There were 18 teams with five drivers per team (two female and three male). The race format was systematic with a 25-minute practice and qualifying (five minutes per driver). The driver with the fastest lap times from each team got to enter the sprint race.

The three winning teams were Kiang Hainan Team A, Sepang Team Hainan Youth and Kiang Hainan H, which received trophies and medals for their good efforts.
